His passion has led him to use his art to create awareness in protecting threatened species around the world. Roland is a supporter of The Sea Shepherds Conservation Society, a Board of Director for SOLO (Save Our Leatherbacks Operation) to help critically endangered Pacific Leatherback sea turtles, and has worked with Shark Angels to educate and ban the sale of shark fin products. He was inducted into the Ocean Artist Society founded by Wyland, Guy Harvey, and Bob Talbot, and now works with Sharks4Kids promoting shark awareness through classrooms globally.
